So Rios was claimed off of waivers by somebody, and apparently the Jays have until Tuesday to sort something out.
My take on this: Why bother.
Unless somebody wants to offer up something pretty good for Rios, or you think he's really never going to have a good season again, what's the point? The team was never going to be that good this year, and this years money is already almost all spent. Who cares that he had a crappy april, june and july.
Getting rid of Rios now for nothing is going to look pretty stupid if this is the last sub-par season of his career. And what, you can't dump him for nothing if he sucks again next year? It will be one more year off his contract.
Dumping Lind and Hill after the years they had last season would have looked pretty dumb this season, wouldn't it?
