There is no team I want to see win the Superbowl more every year than the Colts. I don't know if it would be fair to say that they are my favorite team, but I do think they are my favorite team to watch (with the Cardinals being a close second) whether they win or loose. I don't really know how to assess the statistical reality, but I do know that every year that the Colts give up on the last couple of games in a season, it feels like Karma when they lose in the playoffs. That feeling was strong after they screwed the Browns in 07 by losing to the Titans without the starters playing the whole game. And it feels really strong now after they gave up on a chance at a perfect season on sunday.
I don't know whether being safe and protecting and resting your starters vs keeping the momentum going is the right choice. I just know I won't feel bad for them if they loose in the playoffs.
